Donor Action at the Moscow State University of Food Production
We would like to thank all the 43 students and teachers of the Moscow State University of Food Production who donated blood and became donors on 23 April 2014. On 20 April, Russia celebrated one of the most important social holidays in the Russian calendar -- the National Donor Day. On this day in 1832, obstetrician Andrei Wolf, performed in St. Petersburg the first successful blood transfusion from man to man in Russia. Since then, medicine has made great progress like discovery of blood groups, introduction of technology for manufacturing and using blood components and products, and so forth. However, as before, it is donor blood that saves millions of lives. Thank you!
